Chapter Directors PJ Kwong and Kim McQuiston
Just a quick note to thank you for coming to our meeting in May. Anne T. Roberts (www.leadershipwithin.ca) led us through the most amazing interactive workshop identifying the steps and barriers towards change. If you are anything like me you came away with a new appreciation for the people around you who struggle with change and some strategies to combat that.
Another thank you to Kim McQuiston, our highlighted WHO member for the interesting presentation on the 1-2-3s of graphic design. I came away realizing that you don't have to spend a lot if you are starting up and that some of the designs from the McQ-Lite series can work very well for a business card or promotional material giving a polished and professional look to what you need. Make sure to let us know if you are interested in being one of our Highlighted WHO members at our remaining meetings. You get the chance to share a 10 minute presentation with the group as well as being mentioned in all of our communication for that meeting. We will have openings in the Fall if you would like to be in touch.
Don't forget that we have Martha Dove is coming to us in May to discuss personality types and how they can affect your choice in business as well as the people surrounding you in business. We are also delighted to be announcing that Trudy van Buskirk will be our Highlighted WHO member and will be giving us her 10 minute mini-presentation on some marketing strategies. A more detailed email will follow along shortly, but please mark Friday, May 30th in your calendars!
***NEWSFLASH**** Karen Pai of Ming Interiors is a docent at the Art Gallery of Ontario and has said that if we can get a bunch together we can plan a lunch outing followed by a private tour of the Gallery that she will lead. The Gallery is closed at the moment but when it re-opens in the Fall...we will definitely come up with a adte to take her up on this generous offer!
Our goal for the Beach/Leaside WHO chapter is to provide an environment where networking can be encouraged as well as a place to come on a regular basis for support and inspiration as we negotiate the often challenging fields of solopreneurship as women in home offices.
